5 Weeks

Dakota is now 5 weeks old and I can't believe how fast time has flown. He is getting so big. It's true when people say he'll grow so fast. He has started getting more and more alert. He loves watching his mobile in his crib, pack 'n play, and swing. He loves to be talked to. He'll just stare up at you and he copies what you do. Joby will stick out his tongue and Dakota will do the same. He makes the cute cooing sounds now and smiles all the time. It just melts my heart everytime he gets that big grin!


He still has his days and nights mixed up. He usually goes about 4 hours at night. But one of those early morning feedings usually includes me fighting to keep him awake to finish eating and then as soon as I burp him or lay him down he pops those pretty little eyes wide open and is up for about 2 hours. Joby and I usually take turns at this point. We are trying to keep him awake more during the day so he'll sleep better. He did go about 6 1/2 hours between feedings one night but apparently it was a fluke because that has not happened again!!
