We finally found time to take Dakota for his first trip to the zoo. We went to the Ft. Worth Zoo, which I haven't been to too many to compare it to, but it's AWESOME! We wanted to get there when it opened so we left early and hoped Dakota would take a nap on the way. Joby said "He'll fall asleep about 10 minutes before we get there." Sure enough...right at our exit he passed out! We drove around and found a Whataburger to hold us over and then sat in the parking lot while he slept. He got about a 30 minute nap in. I was so excited for him to see the animals because now he knows most of them and can make their sounds. He was facinated with the monkeys. He loved watching them swing all over the place! Those are my favorite to watch too! We stayed there for about 3 hours. We were exhausted!! Dakota didn't sleep the whole way home surprisingly but when we got home he slept for nearly 3 hours. We had to wake him up so he would go back to sleep that night! He loved being out of his stroller to run around and see all the animals. He was such a big boy.
Dakota's favorite animal sound to make is the lion's roar. We got to the lion just in time! The lion let out a huge loud roar and all these school kids started screaming. Then he roared again, the kids screamed so the lion roared again. It was hilarious...it went back and forth between the screaming kids and the lion roar. Dakota just stared with huge eyes. It just made the whole trip!
There's never a bad time or place for......the hot dog dance!!!! This kid dances to everything he hears. I don't even remember hearing music actually. We just came to a big open area and he started showing off!!
Dakota had to blow the animals a kiss!
