Abilene has a great museum for kid's called the Grace Museum. Dakota loves it! We even went ahead and bought the year membership since we'll probably be going pretty often. They have a great area for toddlers to play and a room where you can dance and it shows your shadow on the big screen. He thinks that's pretty cool since he does like to move it!
Our other favorite thing to do in Abilene is go to the zoo. It's actually a pretty good zoo. We bought the yearly membership to it too! Definitely nothing like the Ft. Worth Zoo but perfect size and has lots of animals. My only complaint is there's no elephant!! What's a zoo without an elephant! However, you do get to feed giraffe's at this zoo! You go up on the bridge over the giraffe's cage and they come up and eat crackers. Their tongues are so long and sticky!! We ask Dakota what a giraffe says and he sticks out his tongue like he's eating the crackers.
