Halloween

I've been a little distracted this year with the whole move that Dakota's Halloween costume kind of got pushed to the back burner. I really thought we would do Handy Manny and I could just make the costume. You know...how hard can a Handy Manny outfit be... green shirt, jeans, already had the toolbox. But I just couldn't get it together. So I ended up waiting until the night before. We moved to Abilene on the 29th and the next night I searched Wal-Mart for any costume I could find. I found nothing I liked! So we ran through the toy section and boy did I luck out! I found the Handy Manny toolbelt, hat, and gloves all in one package. I was so excited! Then I found him a green shirt. No, it's not exactly what he wears on the cartoon but hey it was green! We got it out when we got home and Dakota did not want to have anything to do with the hat and gloves!
Since we know no one in Abilene yet, we had planned on taking Dakota to one of the church Trunk or Treats. Dakota was pretty fussy the day of Halloween. He took a late nap and woke up around 5:30 burning up! He had a fever but we gave him some tylenol and by 8:00 he was running around the house. Sadly, we missed the church activities but we dressed him up and had fun taking pictures. Then, since my parents were in town (this is really sad) we took him outside and let him knock on our own door! My parents gave him raisins and peaches and I think we had a butterfinger laying around that my dad threw in! Joby and I were a little disappointed that we didn't get to take him to enjoy the night but as shy as this kid is, I think he had more fun than he would've anywhere else! AND...he looked adorable!
