Today is Dakota's 6 month birthday! I can't believe he is already half a year old!!! He is so big and getting more and more fun each day. I love spending everyday with him and watching him grow and do new things. He is always happy (unless he is too tired or hungry) and smiles all the time. His big grin is so contagious!! Dakota loves to play in his new exersaucer that Grammy and Pops let us borrow. He is now able to spin around in it and, like EVERYTHING else, all the toys go straight to his mouth. I think he is starting to cut those teeth that have been hiding all this time. His hands and toys are constantly in his mouth and he's drooling like crazy. He was very cranky for two days in a row this past week. I could hardly set him down without him crying. He wanted me holding him all day long which was very tiring even though I love knowing how much he needs his mommy! Here are a few more other things that Dakota can now do:
- he gets so amazed at his own hands
- loves rice and oatmeal cereal
- babbles and squeals all the time
- sits up on his own for just a few seconds
- does the motorboat with his mouth
- he can now get the paci back in his mouth the right way
- sleeps longer at night, usually not having to eat in the middle of the night!!
- loves playing with his burp rag - he'll drop it over his face, acting like he can't breathe until I pull it off and then just laughs and does it again. It's now a game!
- loves playing with his cousin Trae
- most importantly....he now says "mama" :)
Joby and I are truly blessed to have such a happy, good natured baby. We go to the doctor for his 6 month check up on Monday so look for the new stats!
